After having had
just about every kind of guitar (both electric and acoustic) through the years,
I've settled on using a Godin Multiac SA (both steel and nylon-string) through a Roland
VG-88 then through a ART Tube MP preamp, then a Fishman Aura Spectrum DI for my solo gigs. Below, on the left,
is a picture of me with one of my favorite guitars... my nylon-string Godin (circa 2002).
The pic on the right is my "mongrel" Strat (circa 2007... geez, did I gray that
much in 5 years?!)... a hard-tail... notice the 3 white on/off buttons for the pick-ups
(EMG's)... thank you, Jim Messina for me showing this mod... now you can get any
combination of pickup configurations (are you listening Fender?)... For the gear-heads,
below that is a list of guitars and equipment I use for recording and performing live.

heavy... but geez does it sustain!
